Far removed from the plateau is The Rebecca Stockmans Hut, located on Temma Road on the West Coast.  The hut was built in 1962 for the cattlemen in the area and these days is open to the public but not as overnight accommodation.

Despite flames licking at the door and burning the nearby vegetation, the Hut survived the devastating wild fires which ravaged the Temma area early in 2016.
