Boy Miles Skin Shed
Some time in the early 1970s, Boy Miles built this skin shed close to his hut on Dublin Road which he used as his living quarters when he was snaring in the high country of that area. It was in the Dublin Road hut that Boy Miles passed away in the summer of 1978, just before his 59th birthday. Sadly the hut was burnt down in the 1980’s and the skin shed became significant as a nostalgic reminder of the last place from which Boy Miles snared.
During the wild fires that ravaged parts of the Great Western Tiers early in 2016, the Skin Shed also fell victim to the inferno. A sad loss to those who understood and valued the early bushmen and snarers such as Boy Miles.
