Lake Rufus Hut

Lake Rufus (783m asl) is located in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park and sits between the Lake King William and the King William mountain range.  A Hut was constructed in 1975 with materials which were ferried across Lake King William to Rufus Rivulet then carried both by hand and also with assistance from small machinery to the hut site.  Several years ago the hut underwent much needed renovations.  Lake Rufus Hut is a rarely visited hut due to its extreme isolation in one of the most rugged and exposed wilderness areas in Tasmania.
