The Boat Shed at Crater Lake was built mainly of locally sourced native pine.  It has sat on the shore of Crater Lake since 1940.  Recreational boating was popular on the lakes up until the 1960’s and Huon pine boats provided by the Cradle Mountain Reserve Board were housed in the boat shed at Crater Lake and the slightly larger shed at nearby Dove Lake.
